i have a 94 4 wheel drive explorer v6 4.6 liter with a blown motor is it posible to take the transmission out of it and put it into a 93 ranger v6 2.3 liter

Wha?? There is no 4.6L V6 in any RBV, nor a 2.3L V6... There IS a 4.0L V6 and A 2.3L I4... If that's what you mean and you are talking about a manual transmission then no, it's impossible... The automatic (A4LD) transmission has a removable bellhousing, though...

im not sure they both autos the kid that im geting the explorer from said hes not sure what size motor it has he jus knows that its a v6 and he said 4.somethen liter i was planen on goin down to his house to look at it b/c all i want is the tranny

No, you really don't... The A4LD isn't known for it's reliability... Especially behind the 4.0 in an Explorer... Most of the Explorers in the local junkyard are there due to a burnt up transmission (~75%)...

My A4LD has 146k on it and still shifts perfectly. An A4LD behind a 1994 4.0 has a lot of upgrades and should be no problem behind a 4 cyl. And most other vehicles are in the junkyard from blown automatics, not just Explorers.

Whoa.... we have some actually defending an A4LD...never thought I'd see that. lol

You can make an A4LD a really nice auto transmission. Installing the TransGo shift kit makes a world of difference.

I am biased as well...first car was a manual and I have regretted buying every automatic I've owned.

Don't get me wrong, I like my manual transmissions. I also know that a majority of people do not know how to drive them.

I wish my wife could, but she isn't that hand/eye/foot coordinated.
