transmission question

MJ, I'm with you on this one. The A4LD in a 1994 flavor (known as an A4LDHD) has many upgrades and with the installation of a Trans-go shift kit, it can be a great unit. Sure, a manual does have a place... but so does an automatic.

im not putting it behind i 4 cylinder im putting it behind a v6 wit a 2.3l i was jus woneren if it being a 4wed explorer and a 2w ranger if it could work because hes giving it to me for free and i dont want to turn down somethin that was free but i dont want to take it if wont work because he could give it to someone else my step dad whos a machanic wasnt sure if it would work

2.3 is a 4 cylinder engine, that's why we're a bit confused. 2.8/2.9/3.0/4.0 are the Ranger V6's.

mabye my step dad was wrong because my dad told me that most rangers that were automatichad a v6 in them because the 4 cylinder realy doesnt have the power for hills im not really sure what it has because i havent seen it yetim in sc and its sitting in va waiting for the tranny all thats wrong with the one in it is it doesnt have reverse is that an easy fix were i dont have to get a new tranny and i can save some money

Dude. Type in complete sentences and use punctuation. You will get more responses if people don't have to decode what you're trying to say.
