I recently changed the transmission on my 1994 Exploder 4X4 (A4LD).

I did the KOEO and KOER tests and the only code I got was 176 i.e. Left O2 Sensor Lean.

I note that only because I don't know if it is related to the problem I am having.

Problem:

When cold, the vehicle builds adequate RPM however, the tranny does not respond equally. It kind of lags.

After the vehicle is warm you feel more power and the tranmission responds normally.

While driving from that point on, everything operates normally.

After I shut down and park for 20 or more minutes, the same situation arises.

My thoughts:

Since I don't know enough about the transmission, I am thinking that it may be the vacuum modulator on the tranny,

OR

There maybe a vacuum leak.

Questions:

1. If the vacuum modulator is bad will it cause the problem? (Not sure what it does)

2. Could it be the PCM?

3. If none of the above, could you please help with probable culprit.

Thanks in advance:icon_twisted:

Modulator

I have looked at the areas you pointed out.

I am hoping that it is the modulator. That is a relatively simple job however, if it is the governor, oops.

I'll remove AGAIN and get another since this one I just put in is under warranty.

Thanks for the help.
