Guys, and gals, I need some help. I've got a 95 Ranger 4.0L 5 speed. Came from factory with 3.27's which I had changed to 3.73's. The problem is that I have a noise that comes from the transmission area when I'm driving and when stopped. The noise sounds metallic, not like a grinding noise, but more like two pieces of metal clanging together. I could also describe it like a low level ringing also. The noise is most noticeable in 4th gear, but also in 3rd and 5th. When I'm stopped at a light, I notice the noise as well UNTIL I push the clutch in, the noise will stop. As soon as I let the clutch out and still stopped, the noise will start again, although it isn't as loud as it is when I start moving.
