i need to get my transmission rebuilt and was wondering while i have that done is there any upgrades or certain parts i should have installed?

Umm, usually the shops know what needs replaced and to watch out for on certain transmissions.

There used to be a guy that rebuilt transmissions around here and he knew the problems and advise you replace certain components.

I would talk to the transmission rebuilder.

its an a4ld transmission

A lot of the a4ld early models had inferior components, but by now 95% of them have had these forsaid parts replaced with the upgraded drums, bands and such. Now to help pick your trans shop ask if they use a shift corrector kit with EVERY rebuild, if not don't use 'em.
