transmission issues

I have a 99 ranger with the 3.0 and a44ld transmission and it is slipping in gear and lost reverse... I had the same issue so I replaced the transmission and it seemed fine then I shut it off and went inside for awhile came back out to got to the store and the issues started.. o/d light started flashing and tranny slipping..trans fluid level full.. Any help would be great thanks

Your transmission is either the 5R44E or the 5R55E transmission. It is based off the A4LD but electronic.

A flashing transmission light could be a number of things. Take it to a shop and have them read the codes. It could be as easy as a bad ground to a bad coil pack in the transmission.

It has the 3.0l in it and I believe its the a44ld transmission....... And if I let the truck sit over night and then start it and go into reverse it will move just fine then it will move in drive for a short while then it starts slipping...... I already checked the pump and it is pumping fluid just fine checked the trans coolers to and they are flowing fluid through them so Im at a loss... Any help would be great Thanks

4R44E, 4R55E its one of these two trannys....... I believe its the 4r44e

That transmission still has bands. These can be adjusted and that may be your problem but will only be a temporary fix for the time being. If you have a book it should show you how to adjust them. If you have never done it then an Automotive shop or Transmission shop will be your best bet.
