Hello,
Im here scratching my head trying to figure out which fluid my 2000 ford ranger 2wd takes. Online ive read that its Mercron V and its stated in the owners manual. But when i check to see if its compatible on advanced, Oriellys, Autozone and even Fords website they all say that the Motorcraft version of the mercon V is not compatible with my transmission. But they all say that the valvoline version works and walmarts supertech mercron V is fine as well. also a side not i drained and refilled the tranny with the motorcraft mercron V and its slipping like hell. so if anyone could explain why the oem recommend fluid isnt compatible with my truck i would greatly appreciate it!
The fluid in question
Transmission: 4R44E
Fluid that is compatible according to the parts store
isnt the valvoline one just made to meet the standards of the motorcraft one?????
