transmission fluid question

Has anyone tried Redline MTL? They say it is appropriate in Ford manual transmissions that call for ATF. Just curious if anyone has any experience with this lubricant.

And I assume you were not taking them apart for your health.

I rebuild them and take old ones as cores. I take them apart to save the good parts out of them. I have buckets of parts fro T5's and M5OD-R1 and 2's.

Just curious, do you really use Automatic Transmission Fluid in a 5 Speed MANUAL transmission?

If you have a 2009 Mazda B2300, it's in the manual....you know the book that comes with all new vehicles. Interesting reading!

And just to muddy the water a little more, the new PowerShift 6 speed auto in the 2012 Focus uses gear lube.

The early 1990's Izuzu pickup manual transmissions required engine oil. I wonder how many of those failed because the owners failed to read the owner's manual.

I know what running ATF in my FM145 for a year did to the bearings.

I'm just assuming that running it in a non-WC T5 would have a similar effect.

The bearings are the same between the transmissions. The ATF and the 50W both serve the same purpose. If the bearings never wore out, no mechanic would have a job.

Nah, we'd just be like Toyota techs. Dumb as a box of rocks, but they can change oil and flush transmissions with the best of 'em.
