on an m50d tranny, can you install a tranny cooler? is it necessary/does it get hot enuff to worry about? im shooting for 300 hp out of a 3.0 and am seeing what all i would need, dont want a tranny meltdown...

short answer, not really. There is no pump of any kind in the trans. You aren't going to over heat first, probably break.

i fig as much, but they are pretty miuch the only reliable tranny 4 a 3.0 thats stick. if i could find a beefier unit id prob go for that but im goin m50d since its tried and true.

Since you have the extra power, a 4.0L M5OD-R1 internals might suit your engine better because of its its a closer ratio gears.

are the gears heavier or is there a dif? im planning on running a 10 inch centerforce clutch, will that have an effect as well? or will that help cushion the gears from the extra clutch area and reduce some of the "jerk" associated w/ smaller clutch sizes that causes initial breaks?

You could find an aerostar bellhousing and do the T-5 thing...
