transmission chatters

My 5 speed makes a horrible chattering noise in every gear but 4th. As soon as you let off on the clutch it sounds like spinning lugnuts in a steel wheel. Truck drives ok but that noise sounds awful. But 4th gear is fine.

I'm guessing the tranny is shot but I'm hoping someone knows a magical fix.

Throw out bearing.
Replace the slave cylinder, throw out bearing, fly wheel pilot bushing/bearing, clutch and pressure plate, and the master cylinder while your doing it.
It will cost you most of a day and about $300 in parts but will last for a good long time after you've replaced it all. Generally a system will fail at its weakest and oldest points 1st. They are so hard to get to ( all but the master cylinder ) its best to replace them all while your there.
