Transfer case went out of my 00 3.0 ranger 5speed> i need to know if a transfer case fits off a 4.0 automatic or if anyone around eastern panhandle of west virginia has one that will fit...... many thanks

and also does anyone know what the ID # would be for a 3.0L 5 speed. my trucks at a buddys house and i cant make it over there to check out the #

There was only 2 Ranger transfer case models every manufactured; the BW1350 and BW1354. They are all interchangeable as they both have the same input tail housing pattern.

Your truck has a BW1354.

i was told by a mechanic i know that a transfer case off of an a4ld wont fit my mazda m5od or whatever it is transmission because the splines are different? i dont have anough money to buy one that doesnt fit so im just making sure. anyone previously put a different transfer case onto a 5 speed 3.0?

as long as it's the right style transfer case (IE the same style suspension and drive shafts) they are the same no matter what transmission
