Ok so I poured over the tech section (it's fantastic by the way) And I'm almost ready to have a go at a auto to manual trans swap in a 92 4.0l ranger but I have a question about the t-case. Will the one from the auto trans work with the 5spd or do I need the 5spd and it's t-case. This will be a junkyard pull so I need to know before I pull the tranny out.

Thanks in advance guys.

as long as it is a rbv it will work the 1350 and 1354 manuals both bolt up but make sure you get the right linkage the older rangers and bii can have a transmission that is about 1-2 inches shorter so the linkage is different also be careful of the yokes. the rear is interchangeable with your current but the front may be different(make sure the universal joints are the same size.)

i have done this swap i got my 1350m out of a 88 ranger and no problem at all...good luck and happy wrenching

Transmissions, transfer cases, and locking hubs can all be switched from auto to manual (or vice-versa) independently.

For a 1992, no driveline parts need to be replaced aside from the transmission and flywheel/clutch. Of course there are additional non-drivetrain parts (e.g., clutch pedal, hump plate, etc.).

Awesome! Thanks a million guys.
Just to be sure RVB means ranger based vehicle correct?

Don't forget the flywheel.

RBV = Ranger Based Vehicle
