Transfer Case Swap Advice??

Hey all, I have sources out a used transfer case for my 05 FX4. Is there anything special I need to do to the new case before installing it or is it a simple swap and go...?? The 'new' case has been sitting for a couple years...

manual or electric ?

Is this a conversion from Electric or just swapping out a bad T/C?

My current TC is toast...from what I have read anyway. So its just a regular swap, electric to electric. Also, how do yoi get the model number off the TC. I cant see the info on it anywhere. I checked in the Tech section of this site but it only goes to 04. I have an 05....
