Transfer Case Removal - Trick?

Clutch slave is shot - bled out all over the clutch. Tranny is on its last legs.

Whew... that's an angry dowel pin.

I wonder if it even needs that thing? It's got that big ring to center it.

Hey - thanks everybody who chimed in on this thread. I really just appreciated being able to talk through my t-case frustrations.

Stick is off, passenger side body is lifted (Wow! Lots more room underneath now!), starter is half out...

Tomorrow I wrestle the big gator...

It's not much heavier than the t-case.

if the transfer case dowel looks like that, clean it up real good and grease it a lil before you reinstall. Same thing with the transmission dowel pins once you get it out. and don't forget to grease the Front of the T/O bearing with a light coat of lithium, not petroleum based grease.
