does anybody have any idea if the chain from a 2001 1354 electric shift and a 1350 from an older ranger are the same chain? i was given a 1350 for free and we thought the chain might be the same and i can fix my 1354 case without spending much

Yes they will be interchangeable. You should also use the sprockets out of the donor case as yours are probably worn/damaged from the bad chain.
