1986stx 2.9 4x4 FM145 tranny with a BW1350 mechanical shift transfer case. Blew up the tranny for the 3rd time and am considering swapping it out for a M50D-R1 out of a '91 Ranger 4x4 with a BW1354 electric TC. From the tech library it appears to be a direct swap without any changes to the flywheel/clutch/pp/starter and I should only have to modify the floor for the shifter and possibly drive shaft length. My question is will my BW1350 manual TC bolt up to the M50D-R1 or will I need to use the BW1354 E? Anyone done this or have any input about potential problems? Thanks!

Upon re reading the tech library I will have to use the flywheel/clutch/pp/and starter from the new transmission. I would still like to use the old transfer case and only have to change the driveshaft length while retaining the existing couplings. I can get the new tranny for $103 without the transfer case and don't want to replace the transfer case.
