Well about 6 months ago i replaced the motor in my 98 ranger (3.0) the oil pump went south and i didn't see the need to replace it when it had 238,xxx on it ,and i could get a motor from the j/y for 350 with a 1 year warranty.
When i put the motor in i guess i didn't get the tc seated fully cuz after i bolted the motor to the trans i couldn't turn it over to put the bolts on the tc, when i crawled under it to inspect the problem i seen the flex plate was in the back of the oil pan preventing it from turning over. I then pulled the trans to inspect the damage and found the tc stuck to the input shaft. never seen this before so i got the tc and input shaft out of the trans and got one from the j/k cuz i didn't have much money what i was wondering is, is there a way to check the front pump with the trans out of the truck this is not my dd so i was not in a big hurry to fix it. what kind of damage dose this thing usually cause, what should i look four?
