So I had my transmission rebuilt this will be the 4th transmission Haha. So this time I'm gona do some things to hopefully make this one last and hold up to wheeling better. I ordered a temp gauge and cooler from summit the cooler was a lil to big I made it fit but had to do some triming. I wanted one with a fan for wheeling because of minimal air flow at slow speeds.

The fan came with a 175 temp switch but I had the trans at 200 today and no fan. The gauge I got has a built in output so I may use that instead

I got the double piller pod don't know what other gauge I'm going to install but I'm sure there will b something sometime.

I installed the gauge on the output line of the transmission and I plumed the cooler in before the radiator. I did a lot of research and it seems like ppl do it both ways. I did it this way so in the winter its not over cooling the transmission.

so did my first real test drive today rethinking my cooler before radiator plumbing. reading 190-200 degrees. saw as high as 210 but that was pulling a steep long hill with ac on and its 90 degrees outside. i just wonder if it will make more heat during breakin
the trans has 30 miles on it. any ideas? i read that trans temp should b around 165.

Yea I may have to swap it around I have to take it back to the trany shop for the woronty and sometimes it doesn't want to shift out of first I rly don't feel like pulling it again hope its something stupid

Im no expert on this, as I am also in the process of installing a tranny cooler on my 90 B2, however from the looks of your pics it looks like you have the lines going into your cooler from the bottom. I think they are supposed to go in through the top that way the fluid has to pass all the way through the cooler before being routed back to the tranny. The way you have it it will just go into and right out of the cooler. I think.

The factory cooler installs after the radiator cooler. I am going to install mine after the radioator like the factory. It just seems to make sense to me to get the most cooling for the tranny cooler. The engine coolant could actually add more heat to the fluid if the cooler is added before the radiator. The factory coolers aren't as efficient as aftermarket from what I have heard. Let me know how your mods turn out.

I swaped it to after the radiator the guy at the trany shop said the cooler the better
