im very new to trucks and new to this forum. need help on my 98 ranger 4.0 v6.. 5 speed... bought the truck few days ago and its been running great, yesterday i was coming from work and i felt a change in the shift linkage. its very very hard to get into and out of gears for some reason. i tried bleeding it, helps a little but problem still continues. i seen some oil coming from the master cylinder. could it be because of the master cylinder??? hopefully the problem is not inside the tranny.

Is the fluid you saw definitely oil? Or was it yellowish/clearish like brake fluid? It does sound to me like your master cylinder is going, and needs to be replaced.
