89 bronco II 2.9 under 100k on the odometer.
Okay so I knew I had some sort of leak in the tranny as I had to add to it some months ago. I could not track down the leak though. Here's the thing.. the bronco II does not leave any oil spots where I park at home.. none.
So like 4 weeks ago I pulled in to work and it was raining. I got out of the bronco and walked to the back and I was aghast to see a fresh oil stream in the rainwater where i had just pulled into the lot. I mean this was a LOT of oil, there was also a decent sized spot under the rig after I turned around and looked underneath. I immediately opened the hood and checked my oil.. it was full. So i thought, this must have been here before i got here and I didn't notice it.. so i backed the bronco up and parked it in a new spot, checked later that day and no oil.
So I am at work again today and I went outside for my break, I'm walking up to the Bronco and notice an oil spot underneath (about the size of a dollar bill). I'm thinking what the heck. So I kinda look under the rig and notice there is a stream of drops on the ground in line with how I pulled into the lot. So I think what the hell I have ZERO oil marks where i park at home. So I decided to follow the stream of spots in the parking lot.. I get all the way to where the speed bump is, I see two drops at the speed bump and nothing for a block before it.
Does anyone know of some sort of way this could be happening? I am assuming there is a leak up high somewhere and when I hit a bump it splashes the oil around and leaks on the ground which is why I am not seeing it at home as it is a smooth ride to the parking spot.
Does any of this make sense to anyone?
