tranny swap help!!

i have a 02 xlt 3.0 with a 2wd auto trans. im wondering if i find a 4x4 auto trans for the same year and motor, it will bolt up right? and im planning on getting a manual tcase also because of the reliability and its easier so swap in . and if anyone knows the year range for the trans that will bolt up, that would be great

you know you dont need a new trans to make it 4x4.

All you need is a tail shaft, and housing from a 4x4.

I just converted masterbrendon's 4r55e to 4x4.

from '97 to current for the tail shaft, and '89 to current in the tail shaft housing.

cheeper than buying a new trans...

alright, so just replacing the tail housing and tail shaft sound way cheaper... is there anything to worry about like spline count or that sort of thing?
