Ok so I've got a 85 ranger 4x4 with a 89 mustang HO that had a automatic in it. My truck was origanaly a 5speed now it's a c-6 but I have a options now I have a aode a c-6 currently in the truck and a np435 tranny. So my question is should I keep the c-6 that's in it or change it to one of the other tranny? This truck is not my dd but I do drive on the hwy sometimes. Mainly for 4x4 only. And next ? Is if I use the np435 it's comming out of a full size 83 bronco with a 302 will that fly wheel work blanceing wise with my 5.0 for not? And or will the auto computer currntly in the truck will it like the np435 or will it idle wired or have any other bad affect? Thatnks for anyones input

I'm not familiar with the 4x4 trans options, but your mustang ECU will not care what trans, auto or manual, is bolted up.

Thanks Teddyzee that knocks once concern out of the way that I had:icon_thumby:

Just me, but if it ain't broke, don't "fix" it.

And I do agree with that.. but its not like im putting another c-6 in it, I mean if I have other transmissions that could better the rig why not do it?

I based that on your statement of it's not your daily driver & only drive it occasionally on the highway. :icon_thumby:

Oh got ya brother. Yeah it's mainy my 4x4 rig but to get to 4x4 spots I gotta hit re freeway :-) anyone got a idea on the flywheel balancing on the newer motor?

The 89 uses a 50 oz/in flexplate. The 83 should be as well.
