tranny leaks from servo seal?

I have a 92 ranger 4.0 4x4 that has a fluid leak and it is coming out from the front sevo cap area.It seams to be in a bad spot and looks like i will have to remove the y-pipe to get at it.what holds the cap on?Is it just a snap ring and what should I expect when i remove it and how.is there an o ring or is it just siliconed in there?all help would be appreciated thanks.cant drive it till its fixed and havnt heard of this beeing a common problem.or is it?
