tranny fluid question

can i put synthetic tranny fluid in a 08 3 L auto??
how about rear diff fluid??

i made the mistake of putting synthetic in my GM and nearly cost me a new tranny
i do not want to make the same mistake

It will be listed on your dipstick as mercon V...it's already synthetic. As far as the rear diff it will be fine as long as you use the correct weight hypod gear oil.
