Well he just said it is known to bust open your front diff.. I have no personal experience with the lift but with that being said i would put this no where near my truck even if it was given to me. If its worth it to you go for it.
Junk too (although at least it doesn't pose a threat to your axle housing).
Ones to look for are:
Best:
Skyjacker
James Duff
OK:
Tuff Country (won't harm your axle housing, stiff coils)
Superlift (although brackets aren't as strong as some others, stiff coils)
Junk (avoid):
Rough Country (uses drop plate that can bust through the diff)
Trailmaster (drop plate)
BDS (drop plate)
Rancho (frail brackets & radius arms)
This is how I think of it: I'm spending money on a "lift kit" for my 4000lb vehicle which CARRIES people and is around OTHER cars that CARRY people on the road. I don't want to go bare minimum I want to find a balance between functionality, safety (construction quality of product) and cost. Skimping out and buying something for "cheap" even though you've found a bad reputation for a certain product isn't thinking it all the way through.
150 is cheap.
But how cheap is your time when your working on your truck for the seventh time trying to make things right? In the long run it could be much more expensive than just buying a better brand in the first place. Take my advice or leave it I don't really care, I'm just providing you with MY opinion.
