has anyone put trailer brakes on there ranger for towing
is there any wiring in it allready

There isn't. There is an article in the tech library about doing it though.

Trailer brakes dont go on the ranger, they go on the trailer......j/k.

my truck came with the trailer brakes plug thing wired into it, buuuuut you shouldnt be towing anything were your gonna need trailer brakes mainly because your transmission will take a s#@t if you try towing something over 4,500 lbs

I think trailer brakes are a good idea on the Ranger. Weather he tows 1000# or his rated 4100# (98 3.0).

2010 4.0 auto is 5980# or there abouts. Far cry from your trans trashing 4500.

try and use real numbers to help our users, not personal opinion. thank you.

Another real number is that in many states trailer brakes are the law. In Indiana, for example, any trailer over 3,000# requires brakes on every axle.
