Just bought a 23 ft trailer to tow behind this 2019 Ranger. What are you folks using for ELECTRIC TRAILER BRAKES?

There is a dealer installed trailer brake controller that looks pretty clean.

Do not get a time delay, inertia is the only way to go. I think mine is a Curt, I haven't really looked at it much except to adjust the gain since I put it in 10 years ago.

I would get the Ford one installed.

It will be the cleanest and easiest, it will work best with the ABS system, and cost is probably gonna be similar to a good aftermarket one.

What do you plan on doing? I was thinking about using the 2019 Ranger to tow my 1996 Ranger from Ohio back to Texas using a uhaul car trailer. I hadn't even looked to see if there was a place to plug a controller in yet.

I ended up going with the CURT plug and play model. Worked well once I disabled adaptive cruise and Automatic emergency braking.

Still want an official one from FORD if they ever bring it out. But I didnt want to mess up my interior until we know where the Ford one gets installed.
So this gets me camping and towing my trailer while FORD figures out their electric brake issues.

I seriously hope that the Official FORD one gets installed in place of one of the 2 -12 volt adapters on my dash.
So far the redundant 12 volt plugs are the only design problem I have had so far.

But I have a 23 foot travel trailer with a GVW OF 6500 FULLY LOADED. and the 2019 Tows it like a dream.

Anyone getting the Curt just follow the instructions or you will never get it to work.

6500 isn't bad. I have pulled my GVWR 7525 camper behind my 2002 Ranger with 3.0 and trailer brakes on both camper axles. I would not recommend it for those less skilled. What does your payload sticker read if you don't mind me asking ?
