trailer brake controller 23 lariat with trailer pkg

I recently purchased a 23 FX2 lariat with the trailer pkg.
I need to install a brake controller that will work with the adaptive cruise and collision avoidance system.
I purchased a redarc tow pro liberty that did not come with a harness to connect to the truck.
What else will i need to do this install?

You may be able to order the controller harness from Ford. There's usually a plug near the bottom of the dash where the controller harness would plug in.

I have not found them yet but have been told there are 4 wires under the dash for the trailer brakes.
What i dont know is if the collision avoidance system is wired to one of those wires (red wire) to activate the trailer brakes.

I'm not a vehicle engineer, but I don't think it matters. The trailer doesn't know or really care how the truck stops, only that it's stopping. A brake controller should sense that the brakes have been applied electronically and send signal to the trailer.

The RedArc system is the only one that works with the active collision system. It comes with a pig tail that wires into the 3rd brake light, which is signaled when it is activated. There are 4 wires folded and tied up under the steering wheel. I think they have some orange electrical tape on them. Simple install after all the wires are ran. You will have to locate the knob that controls the amount of brake pressure or sensitivity if it's in enersha mode. I removed the 12v outlet on the driver's side. They sell a little plate that plugs right in the socket to mount the knob. I mounted the box right under the steering wheel on that steel plate that runs across that area.

Do you have a part # for the pigtail that has the 5th wire? mine came without any harness from the controller to the vehicle.
Can you get to the third brake light wire at the kick panel?

No I ordered the kit from Ford using my Ford Pass points years ago. I can look and see if I can find it.

That's the kit but looks like it's not offered from Ford anymore. I'm not sure if you can just order the pigtail. Mine actually came red in color back then.

looks like i will need the universal harness for the redarc to connect to the vehicle harness plus a Redarc EPDK-001
diode has 3 wires.
Has anyone installed this that can confirm this is the way to go and it works?

The trailer brake works. Ive never actually had the collision avoidance go off while towing so I cant confirm. Tended to be a little more careful with 4000+ lbs behind the truck haha. I don't have adaptive cruise on mine either.
