Traction-Lok or No-Slip ,street and winter

good pics! very nice tires!!! is that snow in the tread? how did they do for you?

Thanks. Yes that's snow. :) We haven't got as much as you have in the past couple weeks, but we have had a good bit for this time of year. With the new tires, trac-lok, and weight in the back, my truck has done pretty good so far. The real test will be when we get a 4-5 inches of snow in the driveway with drifts. If I can make it out of the driveway I'll be happy... :)

Buy a Ford Traction Lok.

New, they are just over $200.
Used/rebuilt, you can often find them for $100 or less.

Takes about 30 minutes to install yourself, and if was ant easier, it would do it on it's own. No need for heavy mods, as you are re-using your current gears.

Makes a world of difference in the driving.

30minutes?

I've done upwards of 100 of those installs and have never managed it in less than 2 hours.

If someone manages it in 30min it wasn't done CORRECTLY.

HAHA,It took me 13 hours because for some reason I thought the bearing had to come off to remove the ring gear, by the time I realized I was an idiot I had messed up the bearing and cut it off with a cutoff wheel and was putting hte new one on. Its abotu a 2-3 hr job LOL.

Is there a way to beef up the locking power of the trac-lok? I'm in a similar situation though I do offroad durring the winter my ranger becomes my DD (80 highway miles daily) so I'm not sure how a lockrite will like the highway driving but I'm also concerned about the wuss factor of the trac-lok. Any thoughts?
