I have some pretty wicked axle wrap and I am planning on making a single traction bar with a shackle from the cross member to allow for articulation, but my question is..

How far off center can the bar be?

It would be simple to weld the mounts to the axle tube, but that means the bar would be atleast 8" off center. I would rather not have to cut a plate to fit the contour of the diff and weld to cast.

JD makes a set for early Bronco II's and rangers that I am looking at adapting to my 97. They connect at the Spring perches and the frame in front of the leaf spring mounts. So I would say you could go way far off center.

pretty easy to make, just like a drag bar. weld a bracket to the top of the axle tube, and have it come up atleast 8". then run a drag link to another bracket on your frame. keep the bar paralel to your frame, and make it THICK. like 120+ DOM. put some uniballs on each end, and you have a anti-wrap trac bar. im planning one also.

I don't 'know' how far off you can get but I think you could angle the bar so it ends up closer to center. At least that works in my reality.
