What engine?


If it a def style system, diesel exhaust fluid and has an after treatment system those in certain situations can pull power depending on actual exhaust temperature.


The accelerator position sensor is likely not an issue if it only does it under load.

I suspect torque converter slip, overboost or heat thresholds being crossed with the load. You need to data log it.

I'm just a nurse and hubby is a tradie. We love camping but just not having any luck with this Ranger. Motor blew up last trip in Oct while touring Qld outback.
 
Like mentioned, we are not familiar with the diesel powertrains you enjoy ...well might enjoy if it wasn't robbing you.

There are several and they vary wildly in complication and power.
