Trac Loc spring in open diff?

Someone educate me...can you throw a Trac Loc spring in an open diff, thus equal a limited slip??:icon_confused:
 
You need the clutches and plates to make the tracloc work. The spring keeps tension/pressure on them so they work correctly....or somewhat of that nature.

So the answer is you could put the spring in but it won't do you a bit of good without the clutches and plates.
 
Ok, that makes sense...are the carriers the same?
 
No a limited slip carrier is a limited slip carrier and an open carrier is an open carrier. They are no where near the same
