I bought a 2003 2WD Ranger Edge 3.0V6, 5 spd, 8.8 rear. I knew a 2WD pickup gets stuck in wet grass, and I wanted to improve traction for driving around on my farm, on rough farm roads, etc. I installed a Trac-Loc limited-slip and couldn't be happier. The traction is greatly improved, and I still have the good gas mileage of a 2WD (averaging 21 mpg in local driving; 25 highway, measured over 1000 miles). I can't notice any difference in the driving of the truck around curves, etc, as friction modifier was added to the diff oil when it was installed.
