Why is that?

because the 3/4-3/4 has almost 13,000lb less static load rating.... this is beause the two joints both use the exact same body, it is very common for the casing around the ball to break on a 3/4-3/4.

So (very) basically a 3/4-3/4 is a 3/4-5/8 that was drilled out more?

Wow, didn't catch that when I was ordering mine. I got the 3/4x3/4 with 3/4-5/8 high mis. spacers. If you get the 3/4x5/8 and wanna run spacers you're stuck with a 1/2" bolt. I don't feel like looking up the specs on grade 8 material but you'd have to see if a 1/2" bolt in double shear can handle more stress than the 3/4x3/4 load rating. If not, you'd be better off with the 3/4x3/4 with spacers and a 5/8" bolt; unless of course you run the 3/4x5/8 w/o spacers, but that kinda defeats the point of running a heim IMO.

thats not true at all. I run misalign spacers and they dont effect the bolt size. Its because of the spacers you bought, i dont care for that style of spacer because of that exact reason.

Haha I suck. I've been learning a lot from you guys. I didn't even realize they made those type of spacers, I thought they all fit inside the heim ball. Went back and browsed Ballistic and sure as shit there they were.
