Is there a way to bypass the TPS on a '89 B2? The dang thing keeps going out for some reason.

Its a critical part of the input sensors for the EEC IV system. YOu cannot bypass it. Whyat do you mean it keeps going out???????

The idle speed unpluged in about 1,500 and plugged in its about 2k. So I replaced it and the idle speed drops back to normal. Well I have replaced it a couple of times now due to it doing the 2k idle. Everytime I change it out it again goes back to normal. Could something electrical becausing it to be faulty?

Do you realize that the TPS has to be set to be accurate? Do you know how to measure the TPS reading? I'm guessing the answer is no to both questions and you have been buying TPSs for no reason. Also, the TPS isn't going to be the most important factor when it comes to setting idle speed. Irregardless, you need to know how to perform a basic measurement on the TPS. You need that to properly set it up when it is installed. Did you notice that there is a slight bit of room for adjustment when you tighten up the screws?
