1983 Ranger 2WD 2.0 with a Toyo Kogyo 4 speed. I would like to upgrade to a later model 5 speed. Any advise/help with interchange. Thanks Jon

Should be about the same. Maybe a tad bit longer. I believe the slave cylinder is the same. Are you just wanting another gear? I don't really care for my 5 speed, but I do like 1st better than the M50D.

This swap will require a different slave cylinder, clutch line and master cylinder...
depending on which specific slave and fork you gave now

It will also require a different driveshaft, because the 5sp T-K is slightly longer and the M5OD-R1 "Mazda trans" is even longer

The "Mazda" uses a larger diameter output spline and requires a relocation of both the shifter hole in the floor as well as relocating the trans cross-member to the more rearward position used by the A4LD auto
