I am the proud owner of a new 2008 Ford Ranger XL SuperCab. I bought the 2.3 liter 4 banger with 5 speed automatic overdrive, tilt/cruise, and air. I already have put on a chrome grille, nerf bars steps, Truxport rear bed cover, bed extender, stone guards, K&N filter, etc. on it.
The charts show my truck to be limited to 5500 lbs gross weight with the automatic transmission and I know I can load up to 1260 lbs in the bed. What weight could I expected to be able to tow with this truck? I know it is just the little engine, but I would expect I could tow some lighter load??? I can't find anything about this. Also are there any bolt-on parts to increase horsepower/torque on this engine. Are there any decent chips that will really add some horsepower/torque to this engine without voiding the warranty? Thanks from the Newby
