Hello all,
I'm new to the forum.Living in the beautiful state of Florida, without a/c. I've had the a/c system diagnosed by a reliable service facility, and they have suggested a complete replacement of the components under the hood. Ok....So I decided to have a look myself as to what would be involved in such a endeavor...After much research, and taking a good look under the hood,I've decided to purchase, from RockAuto.com all the necessary parts that I need, and do the replacement myself...Looks pretty straight forward...What's the thoughts of the forum???

Have you gotten a second opinion? I know there's lots that can go wrong in an A/C system(speaking as someone who failed to fix theirs), but I always tend to question people when they say "A", "B" and "C" need replaced while only giving a reason for "B". Other than that I'm not your man, I had my high pressure line explode on me during a recharge. My advice is this: be careful, eye the gauges(and make sure there are some safety glasses on those eyes), and if you spray refrigerant in your face call poison control :icon_thumby:

Your gonna get lots of people poo poo the thought of you doing it as an untrained person, but I'm gonna look at it from the point of view of, your gonna do it regardless might as well help you.

Ok so do you have any manifold gauges, air compressor, vacuum pump, quick disconnects etc? Obviously your gonna get all the ac components but I'm trying to assess what tools of the trade you have.

I successfully did what your doing right now and it can be daunting and everything but you won't be the first or last to try. Just be thorough and keep a eye on the gauges if anything seems off STOP! It helps to have a buddy or someone trained to look too for advice or help.
