does anywere carry the t-30 torx for the front u joint strap on the driveshaft? i need one cause ones a little stripped an cant tighten as much as id like to. i got my dana 35 in my ranger an test drove it seems ok i guess. havnt put it in 4wd yet im deathly affraid its gonna do somthing bad iv never done a swap before lol any tips for testing it out making sure its alright?

I replaced them with socket head cap screws. I don't care for standard hex bolts in that type of application.

At any rate, Harbor Freight, Sears, AutoZone, etc should all carry torx bit sockets.

ive used cap screws, but i would rather have a hex head. go to napa and buy a precision u-joints strap kit, part number 437-10, its 2 straps, and 4 bolts. they are almost like a flange head, but made in such a way that a socket fits it fine, even for as tight as it is there. its good to replace those straps anyways, they will eventually stretch out.

You vcannot properly tighten (or remove) a conventional hex head bolt
which in that size normally has a 7/16" head and there is insufficient
wrench or socket clearance between the bolt or the strap.

An allenhead capscrew (internal hex) or the factor bolts that do have
a conventional 7/16" hex head but have an internal T-30 torx because
you really can't get a wrench on the external hex flats.

That is a 1/4-28 thread size. Find a Grade 8 bolt in that thread size and you will be good.

Good points made by the other people. I forgot that not any bolt will work. Do what they say and try to find an allen drive bolt as they have smaller heads than typical bolts. They are also available in grade 8 I believe at my local hardware store so they should not be too hard for you to find.

I could also mail you one of these little bolts from my bucket of hardware that I have kicking around if you want just that bolt.
