I just bought my wife a 96 explorer sport. Its just a little too low, I have been looking at keys for 2-3" lift. This is probably a dumb question but I've never dealt first hand with torsion bar suspensions. After swapping the keys will it need to be re-aligned?

yes it will. you can save yourself some money and just crank the T-bars....

One down fall of these keyes, and cranking the Tbars, is you will lose most if not all your down travel, and it will ride like poop.wear ball joints faster, and if the ball joints going in to bind are the limit factor in the suspention travel.they can snap.
instead of going over a speed bump, and your suspention dropping "down" on the back side of the bump, the front end will for a split sec be air bone and cause to smack back down. and this is a little jaring.

Don't waste your money on the keys, you can get about 1.5- 2" of lift out of the stock ones. Anymore lift than that and you will start causing excessive wear on ball joints and CV's. Jack the front end up so the tire are off the ground and crawl underneath and adjust the stock keys up the same amount of turn on each side. You will require a wheel alignment afterward as at a minimum your toe will now be out.
