Bought 4 new bilstein shocks and some ready lift keys to install on my dads new 2009 ranger. Did not realize you needed a special tool until today.

Tool seems to be about $100, anyone have a used one to sell? Or maybe have one to lend? Is this a tool that can be rented? Will buy if needed, as I want to be safe, but will probably never touch this truck suspension again.

Thanks

You can get those bars very close to maxed out without keys. All the keys do is put the adjusting bolts back in their original spot.

So you need the torsion tool (or torsion key, same thing?) to just put the torsion bar back to lower height?

No, to adjust the suspension height you just need to turn the adjuster bolt. However, it can make the ride stiffer, and you still need an alignment. This is a company truck, so I did not want to change how the truck rides.

So it seems that the readylift tool will NOT work with Ford, only GM. Does anyone have a link to a tool that they have used and was good quality?

Thanks
