I have always found that this 2003 xlt drove like a tank. I put new shocks on and it didn't help out the front much. I figured it was because I put cheap shocks on it
...A couple of days ago a buddy at work was checking things out under the truck. He said somebody cranked up the torsion bar to the max on just the drivers side only! He brought it back down to match the passenger side and now the truck soaks up the bumps nicely. Why the hell would someone have done this??

It was easier than going on a diet?

It probably had something to do with getting the truck to sit level from side to side.

Or gross incompetence.

Or both.

I just read from page 1..." Torsion bar stock setting question", and realized this is what was found on my 03 xlt 4x4. Buddy of mine was under the impression that one bar was cranked up too much because the bolts were not even on both sides. He adjusted so the bolts looked the same. Can someone provide a link to show how to adjust back to the stock setting please. It was described to the other member how to adjust correctly...but I would prefer a diagram if possible.....thanks

...I found a few statements on another forum saying that the drivers side adjustment bolt should be about 3/4 in and the passenger side bolt should be about half way in for a stock setting. Can someone on here verify this?...Thanks
