I need to torque a bolt to 335 ft/lbs and my torque wrench only goes up to 250. I found a website that talks about building an increaser that will enable me to increase/measure a highter torque than the wrench is rated for.

Is this an accurate formula? I just wasn't sure about just measuring the torque wrench from the center of the knurled handle part. It seems to me that you could have two different length torque wrenches and the part that matters is the amount of torque at the end of the lever.

Yeah, that looks right to me. It's a common thing.

You measure from the center of the knurling because that is where the center of the force from your hand is taken to be.

That's not the "OSHA Approved" way to multiply torque but yes that will work. All you are doing is adding leverage and the formulas shown there are correct. Obviously there will be some error to everything due to measurements and such but that will get you in the ballpark to what you need. The true correct way is to use a gear reducer on the wrench but us common folk ususally can't afford things like that.
