torque converter

ok , that clarifies things , i am used to going to the parts store and asking for a cam or crank sensor , never ask for them by the abbreviated names , and would the ring on the harmonic balancer be different , this is just a stab in the dark , but mine is an auto and his was a manual

ok , i just dug through my cabinent full of 3.0 engine parts , and i found my original CPS , i will try it tommorow , hopefully it will work , i have been 6 weeks without driving my ranger , i am going through withdrawl

yea , i have been driving my moms merc sable , the only thing fun about that is it has the 3.0 DOHC , and it wooped my buddies S-10 , and i got to drive the F-150 for a week too , but i want my ranger back , i miss it

well i checked stuff out today , no trouble codes , fixed the ground strap , still not spark , i am gonna pick up a new set of plug wires today , the old one are kinda beat up and covered in grease , idk about the coil pack , it has been exposed to some shitty weather , the truck sat outside with no hood for a day , then it sat in an unheated barn for three weeks , then it sat outside , with just the hood thrown on while the temp dipped close to 0 and we has 60 mph winds , idk if the coil shit the bed , i am gonna call a repair shop we take our cars to on monday , he is amazing with electrical work , we will see what happens

She Lives , i put a new CPS , Coil , and Wires on , we then found the problem , one of the power wires for the coil had been pulled back , so the little metal tang in the plug was not contacting the one on the coil , pushed it back in , cranked her a few times and she fired right up

glad it was as simple as a loose connection.

so whats next on the agenda? has it moved under its own power yet?

i drove it home , i prolly put 10 miles on it , i had to refill the cooling system and the tranny , and when we went to put the old tractor in the barn it had to be pushed , well we had to pull it back , my stepdad had no traction pulling it with his F-150 , so i hooked a chain from his trailer ball to my tow hooks and pulled him and the tractor about 10 feet backwards

o yea , that thing is a beast , this engine seems to sound and run alot stronger that the old one

glad its working out so far.

so next up is some roller rockers, underdrive pulleys, programmer, maybe whipple...right? :D

possibly , i was thinking of looking into roller rockers , pulleys and a programmer , no whipple though , that is for the block i have in the garage , but my stepdad wants me to get a different truck , one with a 4.0 , he doesnt like this engine now , because we never had anything major go wrong with my 4.0

no engine is impervious to catastrophic failure. the 3.0 is a good motor capable of well over 200HP. basing ones opinion on one example is a little...ahhh...narrow minded (no offense, but seriously).
