Torn!! Samuarai Or 67 F250

Agreed - there are a lot of other great vehicles as well. It just rubs me the wrong way when someone allows their biases to blind them completely.

I would take a Samurai over a jeep anyday of the week and twice on sunday.

I've never owned a Sami but i've never heard a bad thing about them from anyone who's actually owned one.

As said above, every vehicle has its place. I personally like my small trucks for the semi-reasonable mileage they, and their ability to go down tight trails. An F250 would be more truck than I would want or need. Its for that reason I own two Bronco II's, and I'd say that for many of you on this site its the reason you owns RBV's.

I'd go for the Sami personally. I like the sound of something small, nimble, lightweight, simple, and reliable. And anyone who says Jap is total s*it has clearly never owned a jap car, or at least had an open mind about them. Some of the best cars we've ever owned were jap.

Oh and one thing I forgot. A Suzuki Samurai holds the world record for the highest altitude ever obtained by a 4x4 vehicle at almost 22,000ft.

I have never been around a Sammi, partially I suppose because I have no use for one or anything similar.

I looked at getting a new Jeep Wrangler, but came up with the notion that if I didn't get something that could do more than my Ranger or at least get better milage I might as well get a car... so I got a F-150 and I no longer need to borrow my dad's truck to haul my tractor around and I can go pretty much anywhere I need to in winter.

I don't do trails, there are none around. A fullsize is a much more stable platform in mud and on rough fields that I frequent so really I am at a disadvantage with my Ranger. My F-150 is much more stable than my Ranger on a grade, throws you back and forth much less when going thru gopher infested fields, there is one gate that the Ranger can make the corner and squeeze thru that the F-150 can't, but going around to another one is perfectly fine. Going smaller yet would be a step in the wrong direction IMO for what I do. I keep my Ranger around because it was my first set of 4 street legal wheels and I like to drive it.

I would still love to get an old CJ though, ever since I was 3 riding around in my uncles CJ-5 with a 350 swap I have loved them. I like older trucks which is why I picked the '67 to restore, not beat to death. My uncle has a '67 F-100 and it is a very neat truck, one with 4x4 would be even neater IMO.

can any one tell me how to id a old closed knuckle dana 60 and the rear end in this old thing... i know from the tags it has 4.55's in it from the facotry and a locker and had dual tanks in it...hehe aint sounded too bad anymore....

ford, i'm biased, i love the look of the OLD fords,

it's not like everyone has a 67 f250 out on the trails either, i'd love to have a unique vehicle, everyone can build a sammy!

Personally i think a CJ would be awesome.

Hmm, pile of weak japanese junk, with a weak engine, weak axles, weak T case, weak frame, weak body....

Or a Good stout piece of classic american iron with a Stout run forever torque monster 300, a stout 4sp, stout axles, stout frame, stout body....

Hmm seems like a real tough descion *sarcasm*

No just stateing the obvious facts.

Anyone whos going to argue that a samuri can take more abuse then a F250 (espically of that era with that particular drivetrain) is crazy.

The only thing i can see a samuri doing better then that F250 is going further on a tank of fuel, oh and being able to wedge down tight trails. BUt with that F250 with a large bullbar on the front any thing that gets in your way just barrel it over.

Obvious facts, eh? You seem to have a friend that has owned every vehicle that you seem to have an issue with and think you know everything about.

Then again, you have argued that the demise of leaded fuel in North America was some kind of tragedy, so you'll forgive me if I do this when it comes to your opinion: :icon_rofl: .

:thefinger:

Buddy used to have a long wheelbase Sami on toy axles with 35's and a built 22re. That thing would go places a lot of quads wouldn't, and just plain make real sized vehicles look stupid....

I wheel with a very similar Sami on a regular basis. He makes me feel stupid.

When did i argue that?

I said i wish they still pumped 100+octane from pumps....leaded or not.

I have alot of friends. With an attitude like yours i can see why you woudlnt understand what that feels like.

I have experince with alot of vehicles. Granted, yes, i may not of owned them all personally, but i know someone who has at one point in time or another.

Im still saying the F250.

c'mon now, we don't all have Dustin's fat paycheck. I know I couldn't afford to wheel the F250. just kidding buddy...... Jesus couldn't afford to Wheel the F250

if your gonna wheel you gotta go with the Sami,I wheel with a bunch of sami's and trackers and they will make any full size look stupid on a trail, these guys are stock with $50 retreads on them,if your gonna mudbog or show and shine go with the ford,we all love fords thats why were on TRS,a fully restored 67 on 38s would just be bad ass
