Looking for opinions on a specific setup 1990 ranger doing an 8.8 axle swap and want to leave it full width and looking into 10" wide rear wheels with 6.3" bs and +22 offset and 285/35/18 tires.....too wide I can't seem to find anyone with a similar setup in my search efforts... I've seen some 10.5 on rear of 2wd but not sure if they cut axle down to center chunk or if it's full width like I intend on using it

notw:

You don't want to narrow the axle (at least not much)*.

Stock wheels were likely 14x5.0; with 4" backspacing. So, your 18" rims are moving you 2.3" closer to the springs (with 6.3" bs) on each side. Personally, I wouldn't want to come in much more (but potholes up here require significant articulation of the suspension from time to time...)

Hope this helps.

*Darn near forgot...your '90 had the narrow 56.5" rear axle. What is the 8.8 out of? '93+ Ranger would be 2" wider; Exploder axle adds another inch..

it is a 2000 explorer 8.8 with 373 lsd. I ended up going with 15x8 American muscle drag wheels with 30mm offset with 5.6 backspacing they are for the 95 to new edge mustangs. After looking and researching and now slipping them on they will put the wheel right where it needs to be to run a 275/60r15 tire probably a drag radial.
