Toggle Switch?

I recently bought a 1999 Ranger supercab XLT 3.0 4X4. It runs great body in great shape incl frame some rust no rot deal with that in the warmer weather. I have a question on the cup holder under the dashboard there is a toggle switch that is installed in the side cup holder itself it looks like it came that way or was professionally installed ? if you switch it on the 4x4 dash light come on and go off and the over head light comes on too Does anyone have any idea what that's all about any reply would be appreciated

Doesn't ring any bells for me?

Is it a Key on only switch?
Or does it work Key Off or On?

4WD light flash on and off but dome light stays on as long as switch is on, correct?

And does the dome light work otherwise, i.e. when door is open, or with light dimmer wheel?
