The better story is that '94 flood. It was like the LA fires, but wet. I was running an environmental emergency response/consulting/engineering company. We got the county contracts down by Hawkinsville and Eastman, GA, south of Macon, pretty much from I-75 to the coast to pick up all the caskets that had popped out of the ground when the graveyards flooded and the groundwater rose up. Seriously. It wasn't as gruesome as it sounds. The old caskets rusted or rotted (fact, no disrespect) and lost water integrity and stayed down under the seasoned compacted dirt. The new caskets from the new graves under recently disturbed dirt Popped up like a cork, but almost none broke open. Our contract was to pick them up and bring them to the local firehouse. The firemen didn't know when we started, that was a hoot, let me tell ya. I think we collected just shy of 200. The long distance award was one 18 miles from the grave plot, carried by the flood waters.

I worked for a cemetery in Fargo, ND when I was in school and my boss talked about having to round up floaters during the 1997 flood. I asked how he knew who was who. He said he just asked them lol.

It's all the way up to 0 this morning.. damn near balmy compared to the last couple days lol. This stretch we've had really is unusually cold for southern Maine.. glad it doesn't happen often.

It’s supposed to get into the 20’s today. I might have to run with the windows down after it was -10 when I got up yesterday morning. It’s currently 10 above zero here which is already nice

do you have air-conditioning? You can turn that on.

I don’t have the hose and good compressor installed in the Ranger yet. The Choptop has all the bits in there but there’s a leak in the system somewhere. The AC in the F-150 will dang near blow snowflakes at you. The dump truck will have AC when I put it back together.

We've had a change in the weather pattern out west from clear days and frosty nights to rain. It has moderated the temperatures from the upper 20s/low 30s to the mid 50s. Later in the week Southern California will receive some moderate rain (for that area). That might be a problem where the fires occurred. We shall see.

Ditto here in Hotlanta & Joja. We just had snowmageddon and temperatures down in the teens. Sunday morning at the cruise in started at 45° at seven in the morning and it was just over 60 when I left at noon. I had to take the long sleeve topper off, and Lincoln’s jacket

It’s supposed to be in the 40s or 50s every night this week and break 70 every day, nothing but sun.

But like you suggested, I’m not putting away the rock salt and shovel just yet. As pretty as it is, I know it will get cold again at least once.

Everything will start growing this week, I just hope that that final cold isn’t a hard freeze, because it hurts the landscaping all summer when that happens. And Lord knows I need to freshen up my landscaping now that I’m back on my feet.

Highs in the 50s today 70s tomorrow then the 60s till next week here. Then next week it's supposed to only break 40 twice haha. But that's per the weather man. So there's that haha

29 this morning, 54 this afternoon. It will be around 28 tomorrow morning reaching 55 later in the day. Low temperatures will moderate later this week due to a Pacific storm bringing some rain.

-7°F right now, supposed to be -20°F tomorrow morning with a wind chill of -30°F.
