Today is Not a good day.

Today I found out that two of my friends died. They were on our schools annual Scuba-diving trip for our oceanography class in Monterey Bay, California. Both of my friends were dive partners and when it came time for every to surface 18 people surfaced and my two friends did not. The Dive master went down and looked for them and couldn't find them. He called for Emergency help, 45 Mins later my two friends body's were discovered on the Ocean floor. It is believed one of my friends ran out of air in his tank so they shared and they had become lost and only using one tank of air, that tank of air ran out as well. They both ended up drowning and not being able to swim because the gear was too heavy. These two kids were some of the friendliest kids in our town. They are on the Varsity Football team. They both had Scholarships to colleges to play Football. Just know that life can hit you at anytime. Just thought I would share my loss with you guys.

I was notified Thurs. that my Dad has "terminal cancer" in his right lung......it currently has 4 liters of cancerous fluid in it & the remainin part of it is collapsed. He goes in Mon. to see the surgeon that will insert a tube through his side into the lung to drain said fluid, it can only drain 1 1/2 liters per day, so he will be hospitalized for 3 days, while they drain the lung, they are gonna "glue" his lung open to keep it from collapsin (just what we've been told), he's in severe pain & they have given him pain meds. I did notice when we were down in March, that he would tell me somethin 2 or 3 times (not rememberin he had told me already). He told my lil' Brother that he was in pain while we were there, but hid it (VERY WELL I must say) from us. So we're plannin on goin down the week of the meet (my Wife has to request her vacation(s) at the first of the year (Wal-Mart), and they must be approved, and when they are, you are locked into it....she was plannin on goin to PA to visit her Dad, but since this has come about, we'll be headin to FLA.

I've been prayin that "GOD's will be done & that Dad doesn't suffer", we aren't supposed to pray for death, so this is the best I can ask for, that he doesn't suffer! I pray that I get to see him before its time for him to go "HOME for eternity", but that is in GOD's hands!

My dad suffered greatly for over 11 years before he passed in January. We always pray for God to give us strength to bear what the future brings. There is nothing graceful about dieing.

In my younger years various family and friends seem to have the circumstances of life take them. At the time I always asked the question why am I still here? Most all of them were 'better than me'. Smart successful, and best of all loved!

But I'm still here with all my faults.... 4 years ago my adult daughter murdered... 2 years ago my wife of 31 years passed... and now my dad.

Life, like freedom, has no value unless it can be taken away...
