You were lamenting the fact that while there were plenty of explorer 4.0 donors but a lack of '90-92 RANGER 4.0 donors
after I tild you that you'd be better off looking a Ranger for the simpler wiring harness to swap a 4.0 into your '89
There IS a 4.0 Gen2 Ranger there, a 1991 5sp STX supercab to be specific.
Truck Section-B Row-5 and it's six trucks from the end of the row (towards the foreign car section)
the engine bay harness apprears on a quick glance to be relatively intact and is just what you need to swap a 4.0 into your '89.
BTW, there is an easier way to get a running 4.0 than buying an intact explorer at an auto auction, but I'll reserve that info for a PM.I can also talk you through the alternator upgrade to the 93-94 style alternator.
